How long have you been working at iFocus?
I have been working at iFocus for about a year and a half now.
Describe what you do.
My primary role is SEO (Search Engine Optimization), which focuses on helping companies rank higher organically on major search engines for keywords relevant to their business, so their website gets more traffic. I also dabble in some website design and creation.
What does a typical workday look like for you?
Since I’ve started doing SEO I haven’t seemed to settle in on a “typical” workday, which is one reason why I enjoy what I do.
Do you have any nicknames in the office?
I don’t have a specific nickname but the job title on my business card is, “Digital Demigod,†and that was chosen by people in the office.
What would your co-workers say is your most distinguishing feature at work?
My hair most likely.
Briefly talk about one of your all-time favorite iFocus projects you’ve worked on.
The first website that I got to create, design, and implement from start to finish. It gave me a lot of insight on how that process works and showed me how much I still need to learn.
Besides your own work, what iFocus product/service is your favorite? Why?
Social media advertising and management because I think social media is becoming the most effective way to reach a large number of people that are interested in what you do, and I think it will only become more prevalent.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Play video games, workout, and binge Netflix and Hulu.
What’s your favorite local KC food joint?
Sama Zama. It’s a Japanese restaurant in Westport. Their spicy pork ramen is in my top five favorite meals.
What movie or TV show character do you most identify with?
Half Rick and Half Morty.
What’s one cool thing that has happened to you recently?
I booked a trip to Mexico with my parents and a few friends.
Describe your ideal weekend getaway.
Travel to a place I’ve never been and try out a bunch of new restaurants or stay in with my phone off.
Are you a cat person or a dog person?
If I had to choose, I would definitely be a dog person but I like cats too. I’m honestly just an animal person in general.
What celebrity would you most like to have drinks and a conversation with? Why?
Freddie Mercury because he is one of the greatest (if not the greatest) vocalists and entertainers of all time. I would just like to hear him talk about his story and where he would get his inspiration to do what he did.
What’s one weird quirk that you have?
Really dislike eating the same meal two times in a row

Describe one thing that’s a source of inspiration for you.
Seeing people succeed and achieve dreams that they’ve had. Seeing someone get something or do something that they have worked relentlessly for is really motivational for me.
What’s your favorite part about working at iFocus?
My favorite part of working here is amount of opportunities to learn new things and the people.
What’s the most important thing you’ve learned from working at iFocus thus far?
There is always more you can learn, especially in digital marketing, where the industry is always adapting and growing. If you become complacent in the skills you currently have, you’ll likely get left behind. Consistent growth is key.
